In the Woods

Fiction by Tana French.

In the Woods (Dublin Murder Squad Series #1)

This was a detective story. I liked it but didn't love it.

I guess I had trouble getting into the story; I'm not sure why.

Plot-wise it was good. Also I like the Irish-ness of it.

But I didn't have trouble putting it down. Sorry.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson

Youth fiction by John Green and David Levithan.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson

Good book.

This a book for older kids (16+ at least) that seemed very real-life-teen to me.

So when I say it was good, I mean it was engaging, well-written, and also authentic.

Thematically, you might have a problem with your kid reading this. (Example: There was a homosexual character. Okay, two. Maybe more.)

But hey, it's not meant for the moms, right?

Illusion

Fiction by Frank Peretti.

Awesome book. Love story and science fiction together.

Title: This Present Darkness, Author: Frank E. Peretti
I like Frank Peretti, although sometimes he goes too far into the weird.

For example, I liked This Present Darkness, an old book (1986), but I remember when it was a new release.

House
However, House, a more recent book of his, was a little too much.

Illusion was just weird enough though. It may be his best.

Remember Me

Fiction by Deborah Bedford.

Remember Me

This was a good book.

A quiet non-thriller, it still kept me turning pages. This book was engaging and slightly surprising, and NOT formulaic and contrived. Which is nice. For a change.

I have not read much of Deborah Bedford, but I plan to read more now.

Fifty Shades of Grey

Fiction by E.L. James

Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades Trilogy #1)

https://www.barnesandnoble.com

Yes. I actually read it.

Everyone, EVERYONE was talking about this book and I just had to see what it was all about.

Well. It was all about S- E- X, but unfortunately without any P- L-O-T.

I mean, when you find yourself BORED by the (many) (explicit) (kinky) erotic scenes....that's a bad sign.

I have been assured that books #2 and #3 of the trilogy are MUCH better.

Thanks, but I think I'll pass....

Pretense

Fiction by Lori Wick.

Pretense

This book turned out pretty good, but I had trouble getting into it. It took over a week to get through it, which is a long time for me.

Of course, it was also over 700 pages long.....
