So.... this book was a continuation of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. It's about the girls after they grow up.

I never got interested in the "Traveling Pants" series so I couldn't get into this book. I think it would only be enjoyable if you'd liked the earlier books.

A good book that involves some of the characters I liked from The Whole World Over, this a novel about a grown man who searches for his biological father, the one his mother has stubbornly refused to tell him about for forty years.

A good story about a woman with a troubled relationship with her two sisters, this novel took a super weird turn in the middle. But it came out all right in the end. I think...

A Story Lately Told

This is a memoir by the actress Anjelica Huston about her early life.

The memoir is probably the hardest type of book to write in my opinion. Let's face it, someone else's childhood just isn't that interesting. Even a celebrity's. But I keep hoping, and reading memoirs, because sometimes you read a good one.

This one... was not that good.

I mean, when you are raised by the rich and famous, and then BECOME rich and famous yourself... It's not exactly surprising.

The name-dropping was pretty cool, though.

I love Dave Barry. He is incredibly funny when writing about real life in his newspaper column and his nonfiction books. But in his novels he is over-the-top hilarious!

This story takes place on a gambling ship in South Florida and involves a mob boss, a cocktail waitress, a couple of octogenarians from the nursing-home, and four guys from an aging cover band.

(Although there is some bad language, it's not at McFarlane-level.)

I read this book a few years ago, but I just recently picked it up again. I don't usually re-read books, but this one is worth a re-read.

Seriously, it's one of my favorite novels.
