This legal thriller, written from a Christian perspective, was an exciting read. I'd recommend it!
I also read by this author: The Choice, Water's Edge.

My Little Brony
Young Adult Fiction by K.M. Hayes.

This was a fun read, meant for middle-school-aged kids but with an engaging plot that anyone could enjoy. It also makes you think about accepting others who are different from you, and possibly embracing your own "differences."

Absolutely Truly
Youth fiction by Heather Vogel Frederick.

My sister-in-law (a middle-school teacher who recently retired) gave me a few young-adult novels to read, and this is one of them.
I enjoyed this story, about a twelve-year-old girl in a military family, and I think the light mystery would be interesting for other adults as well.

The Blondes
Fiction by Emily Schultz.

Okay. So what if there was a mysterious plague-like illness that affected only... wait for it... attractive blond women? Suddenly, the female forms usually worshiped in society as the beauty ideal were now the pariahs?
Weird, right? Oh, yeah. It's unlike any other story I can think of.
A truly original novel, this book is not for everyone. There were some decidedly creepy parts, but it held my attention to the end.

Girl About Town
Fiction by Adam Shankman and Laura L. Sullivan.

This was an exciting novel set in the fictional version of the Golden Age of Hollywood, which is much more fun than the actual Golden Age of Hollywood. (See All The Stars in the Heavens for more realism and less excitement.)
A super-fun, fast read!

Love Unexpected
Fiction by Jody Hedlund.

I have said before that I don't usually enjoy reading "straight romances," by which I mean not heterosexual love stories, but rather stories in which the romance between the characters is the entire plot. So normally I would not have chosen to read this book simply by looking at it. (i.e. judging it by its cover, har har!) Everything from the title ("LOVE Unexpected") to the picture (pretty white lady in period clothing) makes it look like a garden-variety Christian Romance Novel.
But since I had read another book by this author (Luther and Katharina) which I enjoyed, I gave this book a shot. And it was pretty good! There was definitely a lot going on with these characters beside just the lurrrve part.

Dearly Beloved
Fiction by Wendy Corsi Straub.

In this thriller, three seemingly unrelated women go to a remote island to stay the weekend. They all come for different reasons, but it unfolds that they've been lured there by... well, by whom we are not sure, but it sure can't be Santa Claus.
This was a fun read with exciting plot twists.

Lilac Girls
Fiction by Martha Hall Kelly.

This was a great book, about three women during World War Two.
Looking at the short synopsis and the front cover, I expected the three women to be friends who were in a concentration camp together, but this was not the case. One woman was in America, one lived in Poland, and one woman was in Germany. The way their stories were linked was surprising.
I definitely recommend this book!
