This is a story about an African-American family. It had really good characters, but I almost despaired of them in the middle of the story.
It ended well, so I'm glad I stuck it out.
If you're interested in "Black" fiction though, I personally liked Nappily Ever After by Trisha Thomas better than this book or Waiting to Exhale (also by Terry McMillan).
