This story is a novel "based on a true story," and it's an exciting one!
Aisha is a young woman from a sheltered and traditional home, so when she gets married she does not balk at obeying her husband's wishes. He makes her quit her job as soon as she gets pregnant, stop seeing her family, and stay within an ultra-strict budget. His isolation and control of her is so pervasive that Aisha sees no way out, even when he abuses her physically.
The reader really roots for Aisha and her children to get away from her terrible situation, and I don't feel it's a spoiler to say she finally does. There are some surprises at the end of this story, too!
