Fourth of July Creek

 Fiction by Smith Henderson

https://www.barnesandnoble.com

A social worker called Pete Snow is living and working in rural Montana around 1979. Pete wants to help his indigent clients straighten out their lives and care for their kids, but he can't even keep his own life on track. And his adolescent daughter is out of control...

This book was well written with great characters, but what a downer! And the ending made me want to throw the book across the room.

So, I don't really recommend it, but I did want to finish reading it...
