Two girls, aged 16 and 14, were found hanging from a tree in rural India. Were they murdered? Did they commit suicide? Was it some kind of honor killing? The police sure won’t figure it out; they either are too corrupt or too incompetent. This book tries to present all the facts without giving any opinions. 

I really tried to like this book but in the end I just couldn’t. Maybe I’m not smart enough to appreciate it, but I don’t like all the technical detail coupled with absolutely no conclusions.

Michelle McNamara was a writer obsessed with finding a serial killer. She spent years and years researching and writing about the "Golden State Killer," a name she coined for a man the media had called the East Area Rapist in the late 70's and early 80's and who had become a murderer as time had progressed.

Then Michelle died unexpectedly before finishing her research. This book, therefore, was partially written by her and partially constructed after her death from her notes and magazine articles. The result seemed a little muddy to me, and I felt like the story lacked focus. It rambled around, and I thought it should have been way more interesting than it was.

Still, I read the whole thing because I wanted to know if they ever caught this guy....

This is a truly disturbing story of the real family of Shelley Knotek, dubbed by the media as "The Most Evil Mom in America." It's pretty horrible but also fascinating, and not for the faint of heart.

In this audio documentary, an investigative journalist in Australia tries to uncover the truth about a murder. Was the wrong man convicted?

This was interesting enough, but not as exciting as I would have liked. I did love the Aussie accents.
