The Newlyweds

Fiction by Nell Freudenberger.

The Newlyweds

Really good book about a woman from Bangladesh who comes to America as an internet "mail-order-bride."

Also this cover is gorgeous; it's much better than the one on the library copy I read.

A funny book. I like Mindy. I'd like her to be my friend.

And not just because she's famous either.

The Chance

The Chance: A Novel

A nice light romance. Better than the Bridge, not as good as A Thousand Tomorrows.

The Storyteller

Fiction by Jodi Picoult.

The Storyteller

Awesome book, as expected. Click here to see the last Jodi Picoult novel I also read and loved.

This one is about a girl with a grandma who is a Holocaust survivor, and she has plenty of issues of her own. There's also a story within a story.

Excellent.

(BTW, don't read the reviews on the link above if you don't want the ending spoiled!)

Great book about three friends. It doesn't go where you think it will.

It's a good character story.

Nonfiction by Augusten Burroughs.

This Is How: Proven Aid in Overcoming Shyness, Molestation, Fatness, Spinsterhood, Grief, Disease, Lushery, Decrepitude & More. For Young and Old Alike.

This a book in which Mr. Burroughs tells us how to solve all our problems and live our lives properly.

That description sounds horrible but actually it is a LAUGH RIOT!

And incidentally contains some good advice.

Although it does get a little sad sometimes towards the end...

No Direction Home

Fiction by Marisa Silver.

No Direction Home
http://www.barnesandnoble.com

This is a story about a pair of 10-year-old twin boys, a woman with Alzheimer's and a teenager in a hick town. Oh, and a kid in Mexico. Of course somehow their lives intersect.

A good character novel.

The Kingmaker's Daughter

Fiction by Philippa Gregory.

The Kingmaker's Daughter

Historical fiction set during the War of the Roses in England, this book joins The Red Queen, The White Queen, and The Lady of the Rivers in the "Cousins' War" series.

Philippa Gregory has an amazing talent for making history come alive. I recommend all her books.

Cool tagline on the cover: "They found a body. I know who it is."

Good book, but a little dark.
